Who we are

AhlulKhair (ahlulkhair.com) connects donors with verified families in Chennai for school fees and medical costs, and runs a free Quran, Hadith and Islamic history quiz. AhlulKhair is a charitable initiative supported by Xcell Computers LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Questions about this policy: whatsapp@ahlulkhair.com.

What we collect

  • Account details you give us when you sign up: name, email address and password (stored securely by our login provider, never readable by us), and for donors the details asked on the sign-up form.
  • Family and medical requests submitted by parents, schools and requesters, including documents needed to verify them.
  • Quiz activity: your answers and scores, whether you play on the website or on WhatsApp. If you play without an account, we keep your scores under a temporary guest login in your browser.
  • WhatsApp quiz: when you message our WhatsApp number we receive your WhatsApp phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and the messages you send to the quiz. We use them only to run the quiz and, if you ask, to link your scores to your website account.

How we use it

To run the website and the quiz, to show your scores and progress, to verify requests and connect them with donors, and to send you emails about your account, pledges or requests. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

  • Information about children and families is shown only to signed-in members, in a limited (masked) form, and in full only to our administrators and, after a confirmed sponsorship, to the sponsoring donor.
  • Leaderboards show only a first name and initial. WhatsApp phone numbers are never shown to anyone.
  • We use trusted service providers to run the website: Supabase (database and logins), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email) and Meta (WhatsApp). They process data only on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active or while it is needed for the purpose above. Quiz and WhatsApp quiz records can be deleted at any time on request.

Deleting your information

To delete your account, your quiz scores or your WhatsApp quiz data, email whatsapp@ahlulkhair.com from the email address on your account. To delete your WhatsApp quiz data straight away, send delete to the AhlulKhair WhatsApp quiz and follow the reply. Email requests are completed within 30 days and we confirm when it is done.

Children

Children may use the quiz. We collect only what the quiz needs, never show contact details, and show only a first name and initial on leaderboards. Parents can ask us to delete a child's data at any time.
